brightness or luminance of the picture. U and V between them carry the
color information]. Usually the plug and jack are colored coded yellow.
CMOS Camera Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor - In a CMOS sensor, each
pixel has its own charge-to-voltage conversion, and the sensor often also includes
digitization circuits, so that the chip outputs digital bits which may reduce the area
available for light capture. The capture chip requires less off-chip circuitry for
basic operation. All purely Digital KAV cameras are CMOS cameras.
Contrast Control button Contrast Control might be better called Picture. It applies
a (gain) to the red, green, and blue signals. It affects the luminance (proportional
to intensity) that is reproduced for a full white input signal. Once BRIGHTNESS
is set correctly, CONTRAST should be set for comfortable viewing brightness.

Composite Output Composite video is the format of an analog television (picture only)
signal before it is combined with a sound signal. It is usually in a standard format
such as NTSC, PAL, or SECAM. [It is a composite of three source signals called
Y, U and V (together referred to as YUV) with sync pulses. Y represents the
brightness or luminance of the picture. U and V between them carry the color
information]. Usually the plug and jack are colored coded yellow.
Compound microscope - In the originalsimple microscopes, a single light path went
through the object viewed and one (1) lens, increasing the visibility of the object
by some amount (magnification). (one light path, one lens = simple microscope)
Compound refers to the fact that in order to enlarge an image, a single light path
passes through a series of lens in a line. Each lens magnifies the image over the
previous one. (One light path, multiple lenses = compound microscope) Usually,
a modern compound microscope has multiple lenses (objective lens) within a
single eye tube, and a series of three or four objective lenses on the head which
can be rotated into place. The image produced is a two dimensional (2-D) image.
Comprehensive Scope Specific name given to the T-1900 series of Ken-A-Vision
Compound microscopes.
Cordless (microscope) Ken-A-Vision cordless microscopes utilize a patented, Nickel
Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery system, allowing the microscopes to be operated
for approximately 40 hours between charges. Every microscope is shipped with
its own charging unit, or the microscopes may be charged using our patented
Cordless Microscope Multi-Charger (SCGN06), which will charge 8 microscopes
simultaneously. All cordless microscopes should be charged immediately upon
reception by user, and should always be charged prior to any storage of more than
2 weeks duration.
